Violence against hospital staff members has been a worsening problem since COVID-19 began. Approximately 44% of nurses report experiencing physical violence in recent years, and 68% say they have been verbally abused, according to a study cited by the AHA.

In pursuit of this goal, it recently granted an extension that will allow states more time to use American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 funds to provide additional long-term services and support to beneficiaries.
