VA Telemental Health Resource Centers Emphasize Case Management

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) recently announced plans to establish new telemental health resource centers.

The VA is making an effort to facilitate access to care by increasing its emphasis on telehealth services for veterans’ care. It plans to do so through a focus on care and case management, health informatics, disease management, and telehealth technologies. It will also offer home telehealth for veterans with chronic conditions using case management principles.

The new centers are located in Pennsylvania, Oregon, South Carolina, and Utah. An existing center in Connecticut will focus on veterans with severe and complex mental health conditions. A consortium of centers will be located in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.
