In an effort to promote the development of the case management profession, the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) and the Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) recently entered a collaborative agreement surrounding certification and membership.

CMSA will now support the Certified Case Manager (CCM®) designation developed by CCMC, which has agreed to support CMSA membership. CMSA members will receive 20% of the cost of the CCM exam. Healthcare professionals who have earned the CCM designation will receive 20% off the cost of CMSA membership.

CCMC has been making strides in its effort to collaborate with professional associations over the past year. In June 2016, CCMC and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) entered an agreement to offer more social workers a chance at earning the CCM designation by allowing social workers who qualify for NASW’s case management credential to pre-qualify for the CCM credential.
