CCMC, NASW Collaborate to Offer Social Work Credential
The Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) entered an agreement to offer more social workers a chance at earning the Certified Case Manager® (CCM®) credential, according to a press release.
Social workers who qualify for NASW’s case management credential can pre-qualify for the CCM credential and can take the exam at the same rate. NASW members will provide a discount for its members.
The associations state that this agreement will help address the increasing need for case managers since it will open the doors for social workers to take the CCM exam and earn this credential. It will also enable social workers with bachelor’s degrees or other advanced degrees to be more active in healthcare facilities because the CCM credential validates a professional’s ability to provide quality, ethical care, according to the release.
The agreement underscores CCMC’s commitment to workforce development, which it outlines in its report Preparation, Development Readiness: 2016 Focus on Workforce.
