The American Case Management Association (ACMA) is now offering the Accredited Case Manager (ACM™) certification exam at more than 300 testing sites, according to a press release.

Previously, ACMA offered the exam at 185 testing sites. By increasing the number of ACM testing sites nationwide, ACMA increased the likelihood that candidates can find a site near their location. Many sites now offer testing on Saturdays in addition to weekdays. These changes are unlikely to impact candidates currently scheduled to take the exam, but offer more options for those who have yet to schedule a time to sit for the exam. The ACMA believes that “nurses and social workers with 36 months of health delivery system experience should have their Accredited Case Manager credential, ACM, to practice Health Delivery System Case Management.”

The increased access to testing sites comes just months after the ACMA and National Board for Case Management (NBCM) announced a change to the ACM certification exam eligibility requirements. The NBCM now allows applicants with at least one year of full-time supervised work experience to sit for the ACM-RN (Registered Nurse) and ACM-SW (Social Work) exams. Prior to this change, candidates had to have at least two years of case management experience before they could take either exam.

A full list of requirements needed to sit for the exam is available on the ACMA website. For questions, email certification@acmaweb.org or call ACMA at 501-907-2262.
