The American Case Management Association (ACMA) and National Board of Case Management (NBCM) recently completed the 2016 Case Manager Practice Analysis Study to support the Accredited Case Manager (ACM™) credentialing examination, according to a press release.

The Case Manager Practice Analysis Study is a report that supports the ACM examination. It examines case management knowledge and tasks and highlights the importance of case management as a profession.

To earn the ACM credential, case managers must complete a certification exam that consists of a “multiple-choice component and a discipline-specific simulation component.” A 2015 ACMA survey indicates that approximately 66% of hospitals look for this credential when hiring case managers and approximately 52% prefer case managers with the ACM credential over other case management credentials.
