Q&A: DRGs Added to the Post-acute List

Q: Has CMS added any DRGs to the post-acute transfer list beginning October 1?

A: There are no additions to the general post-acute transfer policy or special payment policy lists. CMS evaluated the MedPAR data against the regulations (Sec. 412.4(c)) and determined that no changes/additions were required.

Table 5 of the FY 2017 IPPS final rule lists all of the MS-DRGs that are subject to the post-acute and special post-acute policy.
