Q: How do we bill Medicare for COVID-19 vaccines administred to hospital inpatients?

A: For COVID-19 vaccines provided to inpatients, similar to other preventative services only paid under part B, an inpatient part B claim (012X) must be submitted for payment of the vaccine administration. The claim is billed with the date of discharge as the date of service.
