A new video training module educates providers on patients’ right of access under HIPAA, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced in a July 6 email.

The training module, hosted by Medscape, reviews HIPAA right of access rules and explains how right of access helps patients become more involved in their own care. The training also offers examples of how providers can integrate right of access compliance into their practices. Providers will receive free Continuing Medical Education credit for physicians and Continuing Education credit for healthcare professionals.

The training module is free but requires registration to access.
