Note from the speaker: Education and networking on emerging technologies
By John D. Settlemyer, MBA, MHA, CPC
TheNational Association of Healthcare Revenue Integrity’s (NAHRI) 2018 Revenue Integrity Symposium is a great opportunity to learn from and network with peers. There are many interesting and timely topics to be covered. I’m looking forward to many of my colleagues’ presentations and it’s difficult to single out just one; I’m also very excited about the sessions I’m participating in.
The Revenue Integrity Symposium will be held October 16–17 at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park (Phoenix), Arizona. Pre- and post-conference options are also available for those interested in continued education.
I will be a panel participant in the NAHRI Advisory Board-member led General Session 1 at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 16. We will cover several topics we believe are of importance to revenue integrity professionals. In particular, I will be discussing strategies to deal with charging and billing for services that typically do not have specific coverage benefits.
I am also co-presenting the session “Next Generation Technologies: Practical Guidance for Success” with Jugna Shah, MPH, on day two (Wednesday, October 17) at 8 a.m. We’ll be speaking about emerging technologies. The rapid pace of change in the world of medicine and FDA approvals for groundbreaking, potentially curative treatments means we are all going to be faced with difficult operational realities to ensure appropriate coding, billing, and reimbursement for sometimes costly therapies.
The Revenue Integrity Symposium is NAHRI’s premier event for revenue integrity and revenue cycle networking and education (NAHRI members save an additional $100 off the cost of admission). This event is extremely beneficial for revenue integrity folks to be able to come together and share experiences with their peers. It’s a great time of learning and networking.
The Phoenix area is great this time of year. I’m not sure I’ll have much free time, but I hope to at least be able to take in the sights for a few hours.
I hope to see you there!
