National Case Management Week: CCMC releases call to action for case managers

The Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC) has announced a call to action for case managers, encouraging them to focus on workforce preparation, development, and readiness.

With National Case Management Week (October 8–14) near, the timing of the call to action should serve as a reminder of the importance of case management’s role in healthcare.  

CCMC’s 2017–2018 compendium, Preparation, Development and Readiness: A Call to Action,  highlights the following:

  • The benefits of certification
  • The importance of continuous learning
  • The need for case managers to be agile members of the workforce
  • The need to advocate or quality case management practice

CCMC also announced that in honor of National Case Management Week it is extending the application period for its Certified Case Manager® credential exam through October 15. CCMC typically accepts exam applications just three times annually.
