Connolly audit updates - 9/2/2015

Connolly posted two new issues in two categories in to its CMS list for providers in Region C. (See link for individual state applicability.)

According to the Connolly website, the new issues are:

For physician:

• Comprehensive Review: Cardiac PET Scan – Carrier – C001482014. Documentation will be reviewed to determine if Cardiac PET Scans meet Medicare coverage criteria, meet applicable coding guidelines, and/or are medically reasonable and necessary.

For outpatient hospital:

• Comprehensive Review: Cardiac PET Scan – OP – C000992014. Documentation will be reviewed to determine if Cardiac PET Scans meet Medicare coverage criteria, meet applicable coding guidelines, and/or are medically reasonable and necessary.
